How to Make the Latest Summer Trend Wearable: Bright Lips

As with any summer, but most specifically this one where acid brights and color blocking are in, bright lips are always a do. But, sometimes it’s hard to do them without feeling like a clown. I’ll be the first to admit that, despite LOVING them on other people, I am not entirely comfortable rocking a bold, bright lip. That needs to change, people.

Today was a first attempt at wearing a work appropriate amount of hot pink (nearly magenta) lip color. To ensure it really was the lips I was playing up, I paired it with a neutral eye and soft pink blush.
It could be the pink shirt, but the lips don't look nearly as pink as I thought they were.

For the eyes I was inspired by the upcoming release of UrbanDecay’s 15th Anniversary Palette release (drops today, people!) and whipped out my UD palette (I couldn't find a name on it and it is so old I couldn't find it anywhere online...perhaps it's time for a new one?). I kept it simple and put Half Baked all over the lid and Roach in the crease. The liner is Clinique’s Eye Kohl in Egyptian. Side Note: Any Naked Palette owners out there? I am thinking about hopping on the band wagon late, but can’t decide if it’s worth it when I may have dupes for nearly all of the colors laying around.

On the face is Hard Candy’s Fox in a Box in Spicy and Sweet and Laura Gellar's Blush & Brighten in Como Highlighter in Portofino as a highlight. The lips are L’Oreal HIP Shine Struck Liquid Lipcolor in Arresting.

Are you a fan of bright lips?
