Reveiw and Swatchffest: E.L.F. Studio Tinted Moisturizer

I'm nearing the end of my E.L.F. haul and the overall reviews have been great! I really wanted to test drive the E.L.F. Studio Tinted Moisturizer before reviewing it so that I could look at the effects it had on my long term skin health. I have acne-prone skin so the slightest change in routine can trigger break outs. Not. Cool. Well, I'm happy to say that I have been break out free while using this stuff and I was happily surprised by it's performance!

Beneath the solid line, the moisturizer is sheered out. Good match!
The shade I got, which is a perfect math, is Porcelain. Unfortunately, this is the lightest shade in the collection and I am at my peak summer color...this does not bode well for my winter complexion. But I'll think about that later. For now, it's a really good tinted moisturizer for the price! Here is why:

Despite having a weird, almost lumpy, consistency coming out of the tube, it blends out really well and has good coverage. It has almost a matte finish which I love because something I wasn't digging about my Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer was the dewy look it gave that would slowly turn into an oily looking mess. I find that I need no powder to set or mattify it!

The one unfortunate aspect I found is the smell! It has a very fake, almost plastic-y smell and to make sure it wasn't just my nose, I had my sister smell it to verify. Definitely not pleasant. If you are really sensitive to smells, this moisturizer is not for you. Luckily, I'm not easily offended by odors that are slightly off.

Verdict: The shade scale runs dark so keep this in mind when ordering. If you are sensitive to smells, it's not for you. Other than that, I highly recommend it for being only $3!
