Review and Swatchfest: E.L.F. Radiance Enhancers in Sunrise and Golden

E.L.F. Radiance Enhancer in Sunrise

E.L.F. Radiance Enhancer in Golden
This is the second part in a two part E.L.F. haul. To see the first part, go here!

I have been dying to try these ever since I noticed they look awfully similar to the newly released MAC Prep + Prime Highlighter. So, after being worn down enough by their incessant sale mail, I broke down and got two:
Sunrise - A shimmery pink with cooler undertones

Sunrise - swatched heavy on the top and blended on the bottom

Golden - A shimmery gold with warm undertones
Golden - swatched heavy on the top and blended on the bottom
Sunrise on the right, Golden on the left
As it turns out, these are going to be a great addition to my beauty stash! My first thought was that they are very comparable in color payoff (when applied heavily) to E.L.F.'s Shimmering facial whip available for only $1 in the essentials line. The color differences I noticed were that the Facial Whips appear and feel more creamy with a pearly shimmer while the enhancers are a tad more pigmented and have chunkier shimmer (although not glitter, by any means). The consistency of the radiance enhancer is a little thinner than the facial whip which makes for easier blending. And, the dispenser for the enhancer is much more elegant and convenient if you are looking for minimal finger goop. Below are swatches of the two Shimmering Facial Whips I have in Lilac Petal (a close dupe for, but a little less pigmented than, sunrise) and Spotlight as seen in this look.

Another comparison I thought might be useful is to NARS's illuminator in Orgasm. The consistency of the radiance enhancer is similar and, when sheered out, the color payoff is as well. I'm thinking there might be a NARS Copacabana Illuminator in our midst, but I won't know until I can go to a store and swatch it.

Bottom Line: I recommend! The colors are very similar to the E.L.F. shimmering facial whips, but they sheer out more when blended and the packaging is just plain nicer. The color payoff when blended is comparable to a NARS illuminator where you get a little bit of stain with a hint of glow.

Sunrise applied to cheeks, bridge of nose, and cupids bow.

Golden applied to brow bone

Note: Having never tried the MAC highlighters myself, I can't give you a thorough comparison of their highlighters versus the E.L.F. Radiance Enhancers, but I can direct you to someone who will give you an in depth analysis of the MAC version here.
