Review and Swatchfest: Venomous Cosmetics Loose Shadows (Part 1)

This is another back-of-the-stash beauty find! Love it when that happens. I bought these guys months ago, when I was still in school, and threw then in a drawer vowing to experiment with them when I had time. Then finals came. Then I lost my mind. When I found it again, I was home. In another state. Without my purchase. Moving on.

I was drawn to these because of the bold, unique colors, the cool, edgy name and concept, and the fact that you can order samples for $1 a pop! If any of you have tried getting through a MAC pigment, you know how far a little pigment can take you. Even after these swatches, I still have at least 2-3 looks left in each bag.

Now on to what you swatch-hungry readers really want.
The colors, Duke! The colors!!

Green Mamba

Singapore Violet

Gila Monster

Surfing the Gold Coast

These were all applied over Kat Von D's High Voltage Primer in Sin. The color pay off is great with these and the best part is their buildability. You can have a sheer wash or a vibrant pop, and anything in between. All of the shades I have (in both posts) are shimmery, not glittery.

Venomous Cosmetics also sells pressed powders, for those who like their eye shadows a little more neat, as well as "lip poisons" which are amped up lip glosses (I have two in part two of this review). The lovely thing about pigments, however, is their ability to multi-taks. You can where them anywhere, and if you can't, the website tells you so (such as if they aren't lip safe). These are definitely a DO in my book. For anyone looking to be adventurous and try quality products from an up and coming company, you are going to want to check these out.

P.S. These posts go out to Mr. Making Up the Midwest. This is the closest I will get to being able to relate to your love of reptiles.
