Review and Swatchfest: Wet N' Wild I'm Getting Sunburned Trio

I am currently having a torrid love affair with Wet N' Wild cosmetics. I had heard glowing reviews of these palettes but never bothered trying them. So, on a whim, I bought a few at Walgreens and have been beyond happy with each and every one. The first in my string of reviews is the I'm Getting Sunburned trio ($3).

I took such care to pick out the palette that didn't look like someone beat the bejeesuz out of the gorgeous brown color, only to find that it had crumbled by the time it got home. Must be an inside job. The not-so-vibrant pink had it out for its slightly more luscious looking palette-mate. Less drama, more swatching:

Top shade: a cool pink with blue undertones. The dark streak fringing the swatch on the top is residue from the inter-palette sabotage, not part of the pink color.

Middle shade: dark, rich chocolatey brown with gold shimmer.
Bottom shade: rich, warm yellow based shimmery gold
Move over, Mr. Making up the Midwest. I'm in love. The colors are so rich, the color payoff is amazing, and, better yet, they are buildable. In fact - and this might be considered a con for some - it is hard to tone the brown down. As evidenced by the residue on all of the other shades, the brown color can be a little a little powdery, so you can get quite a bit on your brush. While this can be quite problematic, as long as you are aware and careful, you should be able to manage it.

There isn't much more to say about this palette short of declaring our pending nuptials, so I will give you the first look I created using it. You can anticipate many more to come.
