Review Update: Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Hard as Wraps Powerful Acrylic Gel

A week ago, I started -what I thought would be- a long term review of Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Hard as Wraps Powerful Acrylic Gel and simultaneous comparison to Pink Gel Coat with the hopes that I could maintain healthy looking nails without having to choose beauty over things like food or heat. Well, I am here to update you as to the status of my little experiment and let you know that my thermostat will be set a few notches lower this winter.

To start, I put two coats on my nails on a Saturday. They looked shiny and felt hard, just as the acrylic based formula said it would. Overall, things looked promising for the little guy. Unfortunately, by the following Wednesday I already noticed the polish peeling at the tips and I even had two nails break! Say wha’!? By Friday, nearly all of my tips were bare, brittle, and back to the sad state they started in. I realize that I can’t expect a polish to stay on forever, but even polished that DON’T promise to repair and strengthen my nails last nearly a week.

Final recommendations: This polish really has no purpose for me. Not only did it not work as a base coat (as the package suggested), but it didn’t do the main thing it claims to do: strengthen and repair. Pink Gel Coat dupe? Heavens no.
