Beauty Quandary: Nail polish during the summer/fall seasonal transition.

This is a new feature on Making Up the Midwest! Sometimes readers have questions, and it's posts like these where I will do my best to answer. Due to the nature of the posts, I don't know how regular they will be, but don't hesitate to send in your own beauty quandary!

This beauty quandary comes from a reader who wants to know what nail polish to wear to an August wedding. She has picked out a cute little LBD for the occasion, but is curious about what nail attire is appropriate or fashionable for the summer/fall seasonal transition. Now, I don't claim to be on the cutting edge of fashion, just a college student sharing what she loves and wear. However, I do read a fashion mag or two and I inherited my fashion black belt from my mama. So, with that in mind, I will do my best to tackle this one.

For an overall color recommendation, I would pick orange. Bright orange was big in the summer and it is here to stay in the fall. But, instead of sticking with the day-glo version of this hue that graced many a toe this summer, I would stick with a more subdued and sophisticated version, such as Debora Lippmann's Lara's Theme. This is a pink leaning polish for all of you cool-toned readers out there. For a warmer orange, try OPI's Chop Sticking to My Story.

If orange isn't your thing, red is always a wedding classic. I recommend Deborah Lippmann's Supermodel.

I hope this helps, lovely reader! Please send beauty quandary to hazeleyehoney@gmail.com
