Review and Swatchfest: Hard Candy Lash Call Lengthening Mascara in Limelight

I am no stranger to colored mascaras, more specifically those from Hard Candy. Despite the disappointment I have faced with these encounters, I still go back for more; this time, with Hard Candy's Lash Call- Lengthening Mascara ($6 at Walmart).

Hard Candy Lash Call - Lengthening Mascara in Limelight
First some picture love:

The longest wand you have ever seen
Not a lime color at all - more turquoise

What it claims:

Just one application of this rich mascara sends lashes to new lengths! This exclusive formula builds and lengthens lashes with each luxurious stroke.

What it does:

"Just one application of this rich mascara" doesn't do much. It took quite a few coats to get the results I did. I also didn't notice much lengthening going on. At all. I really feel as though my lashes looked exactly as they would without mascara, but with a teal hue. The brush is almost scary long. I wish I would have taken a picture of it compared to other brushes I have but, for whatever reason, didn't think to. Although it wasn't an issue for me, those with small eyes, and therefore a limited area to work in, might find this brush hard to work with.

The formula is wet and so you don't have to work hard to get the product off of the wand, but to get any sort of color payoff, many coats are necessary. I achieved the results above in 4 coats.  As far as color payoff goes, this mascara performs MUCH better than the 1000 Lashes, even Mr. Making Up the Midwest Noticed the color change! That's saying something, folks.

Overall, it didn't really perform well as a mascara so I wouldn't even recommend this product in black. If the results you see in the picture are worth the color factor for you, then go for it. But, I know that there are other mascaras I love more for $6.
