Review and Swatchfest: LA Colors Lip Duo in Playful

LA Colors' Lip Duo in Playful was a Dollar Tree find that I thought would be good, but not great (come on, it's a dollar!). Oh, how wrong I was.

First, let's start with the color and how perfect it will be for rocking the berry stained lips for the fall.
Oh yeah.

A cranberry color
The pencil isn't the smoothest thing to touch my lips, but it is just like other drug store brands as far as quality goes and feel on the lips. It also stays on the lips like white on rice. It doesn't budge.

Twist to dispence with a songey applicator

A cranberry color - and look at that opacity!
The gloss is phenomenal in its opacity, staying power, and lack of stickiness given the glossiness. If I had to pick a favorite to wear by itself, this would be it. BUT, when the two work together, it's like magic. While I get about 5 hours of wear from the gloss (eating, drinking, and all), when it finally does wear off, the liner isn't going anywhere. I got, all in all, 8-9 hours of berry color on my lips. Plus, the color makes it an ideal addition to my fall makeup wardrobe.

Added bonus:
The deep berry color means whiter looking teeth. Have I mentioned I have a nasty Coke (a-cola) habit that I like to offset with coffee consumption?

If you love deep berry tones and long wearing color, this duo is a must have next time you are at Dollar Tree.
