Review: Clark's Botanicals Intense Radiance Mask

I'll be honest, I was surprised by how much I loved this Birchbox find. It's not because I don't have faith in the Birchbox team's judgement, I'm just not typically into trying new skin care products because my skin is prone to temper tantrums when I change things up. But, after reading that Clark's Botanicals Intense Radiance Mask can be used, and is in fact good for, breakouts, I figured this face product would be different.

What Birchbox Says:
We’d like to pretend that we’re going to unwind after work with a face mask and a good book once a week. Truth is, we’ll only pencil in some pampering time when our skin demands it. That’s why we like our masks to really pack a punch, like Clark’s Botanical’s deep-deep-deep cleaning white clay formula. Our skin looks visibly brighter when we rinse it off, and the sophisticated packaging reminds us we really do need to take time for ourselves.

When I first used the mask, my skin was in it's usual state of disrepair, so the opportunity to see instant, visual results was definitely there. As the instructions say to do, I put a thin layer all over this skin and let it dry for 20-ish minutes. 20 magical minutes. The product smells so fresh and clean, almost like getting a facial from a spa. For the first 5 minutes, my face felt cool and refreshed with a light tingle. And, not an acne cleaner "ow that burns" tingle, but rather a refreshing, almost minty, tingle. So nice. After that, I didn't notice it much in the way of excessive hardening (because the layer you put on is so thick), which is great because when I am trying to do homework, being constantly reminded that I can't move my face is a little distracting. After the 20 minutes was up, I rinsed the mask off (very easy to rinse off) to reveal brighter, toned skin. Yes, I saw results instantly. I felt them, too, but, I often find with skin care that, while I can feel the results, I won't see them for days. Not so with Clark's.

What's more is that this product can be used as spot treatment. See a blemish coming on? Already have a blemish? Pop some of this on it for a bit and it will be noticeably less pronounced after you rinse it off. The best part is that, despite the price tag (although it is pretty on par with other high end skin care, just more expensive than drugstore masks) it will last you forever because you only put the thinnest layer on each time. I have used the mask at least 5 times (with some spot treatments in between) over the past week and a half and am only 1/4 of the way through my sample jar. Plus, it doubles as spot treatment? This may be a miracle product for me!

If it wasn't evident before, I highly recommend this product. Highly. As many will tell you, it is worth it to splurge on skin care. Splurge on this.
