Birchbox Review: Zoya Nailpolish in Noel

Noel Credit: zoya.com

If you haven't tried a Zoya nail polish, I highly recommend them. At $8 a polish, they won't break the bank and the quality is great. To date, I have tried two Zoya polishes, both introduced to me by Birchbox. One, a matte, blue-tinged gray called Dove, and Noel. Zoya describes the shade as "A faded denim blue with subtle hints of gold and silver in a dense foil finish." And, I would have to agree with all but the flecks of gold. The frosting in this polish is nearly entirely silvery white.

From the two Zoya polishes I have tried, the opacity is always great. As in, I could really do with one coat, but habit drives me to apply two. The lasting power is great as well; typically I get about 5 days of solid wear. Finally, I find that the formula of both of the polishes I tried is one such that, when it does start chipping, it really just peals off. This may vary, depending on the kind or condition of your nails, but I like this more than the typically chipping polish because I find my nail isn't course or damaged when it does chip.

Final Verdict: Birchbox had some great affordable picks this month. As I said before, Zoya is a reasonably priced polish on par with the quality of other brands in its price bracket, and I really recommend checking a color or two out if you are looking for something different to try. Their website offers so many picks to choose from that finding something different shouldn't be hard. In addition, they frequently have awesome deals that involve discounted or even free polishes so keep your eyes out for those!
