Glam Bag Review: Cucumber Facial Peel-Off Masque by Freeman

Face masks are a beauty routine element that I rarely splurge on both in terms of money and time. So, it was a wonderful surprise to get Freeman's Facial Peel-Off Masque in January's myglam Glam Bag.
Myglam.com claims Freeman's mask "peels away impurities while Cucumber extract leaves skin silky smooth. Perfect for normal to combination skin." I don't know about clearing away "impurities", but the mask definitely took a layer of dead skin off and left behind a smoother, clearer face. I have combination skin that, while not particularly sensitive, is going through a dry patch. Despite this, the mask performed well and I saw positive results. Impurity removal claim aside, I think the mask performs as it promises it will.

As far as use goes, I had never used a peel off mask before Freeman's and now I am hooked. The product is very thick when it comes out of the tube and I found I had to make relatively quick work of spreading on my face before it started to dry and clump. In hindsight, this could be due to the dry weather that comes with the Midwest. I waited just over 10 minutes before the mask was dry and I peeled it off. Overall, the mask gets high marks for ease of use. One thing I didn't take into account was getting the mask on my hair, both eyebrows and hair line. After a somewhat haphazard application, there was some gunky residue leftover that only warm water could wash away. Typically one might not use a mask when they know they need to be somewhere so soon that they can't take the time to wash their face and hair line, so this won't be a problem for most. This beauty blogger didn't have that kind of forethought. Listen, I prefaced this by telling you I don't indulge in the time necessary for a beauty mask, but a busy beauty girl gotsta get her experiment on whenever she can - whether she has class in 30 minutes or not... Consider my poor judgement and haste a lesson to all: until the dandruff look comes into vogue, avoid your hair if you have some place to be soon.

Personal failures aside, I love this mask and I think it is really reasonably priced and worth a try even if you aren't a mask person. Currently, Freeman is having a deal where, if you follow this link, you can buy THREE of these masks for $10 (total!). That's only a 16% discount from their original price so, even without the discount, they are reasonably priced.
