Review and Swatchfest: Too Faced Romantic Eye Palette

Considering the way I rave about Too Faced products, you would think I would have reviewed or swatched one in the over 6 months I have been blogging. Surprisingly, this is the first one and they are off to a great start.

Too Faced "Collection" palettes are typically worth it because of the shadow quality and well coordinated selection. The Romantic Eye Collection Palette is no exception as the shadows are smooth, pigmented, and the shadows complement each other both in color and texture.

As you can see from the first two pictures, Too Faced chose plums and neutrals to embody a romantic eye. And, something many will find a plus, they mixed both matte and shimmery/metallic shadows. Most of their palettes are divided in terms of style; this one is divided into "day" "classic" and "fashion".

To start, the "day" row consists of a shimmery highlight and two matte browns.

These three shadows make this palette invaluable not only as a natural shadow palette, but as a brow palette. "Soulmate" is white with a slight gold shimmer, "I Do" is a light matte brown, and "Un-Veil" ultimately comes off as a medium-dark brown despite looking deeper in the pan.

The "classic" row incorporates the colors with "Kiss the Bride", a matte pastel pink, "Cut the Cake", a light lilac with gold shimmer, and "First Dance", a matte dark plum.

The last row, the "fashion" row, brings back the neutrals with some pazzow. On the far left, "Bouquet Toss" is a matte cream color. In the middle, "Homeymoon" is a sparkly green-leaning antique gold. And, on the end, "Ever After" is a dark chocolate brown with gold sparkle.

Another great thing about Too Faced Palettes is that they include how-to cards that show you how to create looks using each row.

Verdict: At $36 and 9 shadows, Too Faced Collection Palettes are reasonably priced considering their quality. This particular palette is a winner in my book as the shadows are not only great quality, but the colors are a great mix of colors and finishes.
