Review and Swatchfest: Boots No. 7 Color Rebellion Eye Palette

The other day I tweeted about massive clearance sales going on at Target and, while I was able to restrain myself for the most part, I couldn't let this baby slip through my fingers. If you haven't scavenged through yours yet, stop reading this post now (it will be here when you come back) and go to Target now. Now!

Boots No.7 Color Rebellion Eye Palette
This palette was on sale because it was part of their winter collection. When I opened it, winter was not the first thing that came to mind.

A beautiful copper, bright blue, bright green, and bright purple are supposed to say "winter" to me? I now see where the "Color Rebellion" comes from. Regardless of what season it was meant for, I now have a new summer palette and it is lovely.
Colors from left to right: Purple Haze, Red Lead, Chrome Green, Indigo Blue
The colors are true to pan and so vibrant! The one that is a little bit of a dud is the purple; it isn't as smooth or as evenly pigmented as the others. The rest are so smooth and have excellent color payoff. The finishes on all of them are shimmery in such a way as to make them look metallic rather than sparkly or glittery. While most color names are pretty on, the "Red Lead" is more like an orange leaning copper, and one that can only be pulled off with a tan (on my skin, at least).

This is a really nice, simple palette for the summer and on sale, along with a lot of other Boots products. So, if you can, hustle over to Target and see if they have it in stock. If they don't I'm sure there are plenty of other clearance goodies that would be happy in your collection.
