Review and Swatchfest: Sleek Acid Palette

This was another item from my London haul and a treasure I knew I had to bring back long before I ever arrived. While Sleek ships to the US, the FDA doesn't consider fluorescent colorants eye-safe, so they can't ship the acid palette over here. Eye-safe shmey-safe. I say the brighter the better. Now let's see that palette!

Top Row
Bottom Row
Overall, the quality of shadows in this palette is similar to that of the Storm palette I reviewed earlier. They are pigmented, clearly the shades pack a punch, and there is a mix of textures. As you can see from the two far-most left swatches on the bottom row, not all of the shades are as smooth as one might hope. Others, however, blow any shadow that has ever called itself "bright" out of the water. I'm lookin' at you, magenta. While the collection of colors seems like a mish-mash, the neon brights are balanced fairly well with more traditional shades such as pewter, matte black, matte white, shimmery blues, and and olive green. If brights aren't for you, this palette should not be on your wish-list. If, like me, you are looking forward to the neon brights promised by spring runway shows and are looking for an affordable way to rock them, this is 100% for you.
