Review & Swatchfest: Dollywink Liquid Eyeliner in Deep Black
The idea of a pen-style liquid liner is so appealing to me. With only one product necessary to achieve anything from a precise line to an artful wing, the number of products needed are minimized and the results are maximized (clearly I'm a science major dating an Industrial Engineer). Unfortunately, much like a real pen, liner pens dry out and many of them do it quickly. On top of that, the pigmentation in some is great when worn alone, but is muddied and falls flat over shadow. Dollywink's Liquid Eyeliner breaks the mold.
This is by far the best pen-style liquid liner I have tried. While the color range seems limited (Deep Black is the only shade I know of), they do black well. Really well. I was lucky enough to have a friend pick this up for me while in Japan, but US readers can order Dollywink liner online.

if you like that maybelline has a ink pen like that in black, but beware it is not waterproof, but goes on amazing
ReplyDeleteGreat review as always! :) I live in Hawaii and I know there's Asian beauty supply stores around here somewhere--so maybe I can get my hands on this and give it a try. However, surprisingly, elf's waterproof eyeliner pen for $1 is AMAZING! I've tried NYX, wet n' wild...ect, but this one's pigmentation is insane--and I have a huge problem with smearing because I like to wear my makeup for entirely too long (16+ hours) and my elf liner never smears or dulls. It's soo easy to use, too. I use mine everyday and one pen lasts me about 4 months, which is incredible for $1. It comes in black and brown--so grab one next time you're out, doll! :)
ReplyDeleteI've started to wear a lot of gel eyeliner but this one looks like a very good investment for a pen eyeliner :)xxx
