Review & Swatchfest: Lasting Finish Lipstick by Kate Moss

A few weeks ago, Walgreens was having killer deals on Rimmel products, so I used it as an opportunity to try some of the Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipsticks.

Shade 8
A pinky mauve that leans brown when worn (at least with warmer skin tones)

Shade 12

A vibrant, orange-leaning red

For a drugstore lipstick, I was blown away! The finishes of these are creamy, and both are without a hint of shimmer. While they aren't matte, they don't have a balmy finish as many lipsticks do. They apply smoothly, and are very pigmented and opaque with as little as one swipe across the lips. While the shade range is very limited (at least in the US), the quality of what shades they do have is amazing.

The "lasting finish" claims aren't fully accurate, but that definitely doesn't make it a dud. Rather than lasting with a creamy looking finish, the effect is more like that of a stain. That is to say that if you want the results on the lips shown above, you will have to reapply. If, however, you are just wanting a color boost (sometimes a serious boost, depending on the shade) these are for you!
