Review & Swatchfest: Tarte Lipsurgence Matte Lip Tint in Lively

Tarte's Lipsurgence line has one of the longest lists of good-for-you qualities from their good ingredients to their lip plumping ability. Let's run through them quick, shall we? Jojoba oil moisturizes your lips like a lip balm, but give a matte lip color, such as this, a little somethin' somethin' to keep it from being too dry. Peppermint oil naturally plumps lips without being irritating (and it makes the product taste good!).  And vitamin C & E fight free radicals and act as a natural preservaitive, among other things. Phew! Why do a review when the ingredients speak for themselves? Because it get's better...

Tarte Lipsurgence Matte Lip Tint in Lively

Described as a hot pink on the Tarte website, I would say it's a little bit deeper than that. The swatch above was done with just one swipe, so you can see that the pigmentation is out-of-this-world good. Despite being matte, it doesn't look thick or cakey. Just classy.

The "tint" in the title means just that, it will stay for hours! While the intensity may fade, I applied in the morning and when I got home that night I still had a tint of bright pink color all over my lips.

The packaging is another selling point. The twist up applicator means no sharpening and makes it very portable. One downside may be that the pointed shape will wear away and, without a way to sharpen, you may lose the ability to get a precise application. Is that a game ender? Certainly not! Just something to consider when purchasing.

Matte can be hard to do when it comes to lip color and, in my opinion, Tarte does it perfectly with this product. I really recommend it!
