Review & Swatchfest: Tarte LipSurgence Natural Lip Tint in Peaceful

Tarte's LipSurgence Natural Lip Tint in Peaceful was an amazing addition to the Teen Vogue March Birchbox! I've tried the Matte Lip Tint, and it was love at first bite. So, naturally - pun intended, I assumed I would fall for this finish as well. Spoiler alert: I did.

The natural lip tint is just as hydrating as the matte, but it has a sheen to the finish. I would compare it to a tinted lip balm, not quite as creamy as a Revlon Lip Butter, but creamier and more pigmented than a Chapstick. The scent and cooling tingle of mint is readily evident when you put it on and serves to slightly plump your lips. I wouldn't call it a lip-injection effect, but I did notice my lips looking poutier.

Much like the matte lip tint, the finish fades after 2-3 hours, but the stain it leaves behind stays all day (7-8 hours). Peaceful is an apricot color, and the most natural, nude color in the line of natural finishes. Even though I thought it would lean too orange on me, pink undertones came out when I put it on my lips.

This is a great product for keeping lips looking fresh and hydrated this summer and the applicator, a twist-up with a pencil tip, is great for travel. I recommend this product! The only problem is that you now have to choose between more amazing finishes and colors.

You can purchase Tarte LipSurgence at Tarte.com for $24.
