Review and Giveaway: Winks by Georgie faux lashes

Although there are many who are, I've never been one to wear falsies on a daily basis. Between the stiff lash bands that take too much effort to break in and conceal, the itchiness that comes from adhesive (dry, sensitive eyes are a pain), and the problem of how to safely store them afterward for reuse, I couldn't bring myself to wear even the most natural feeling lashes. Couldn't, that is, until I tried Winks. Winks by Georgie is a faux lash line that not only boasts a long list of eco and body friendly achievements, but they are explicitly made to be reused and kept pristine in-between uses. Winks has just released 10 new lashes on Nordstrom.com and they were nice enough to contact me and ask if I wanted to try some out. Lashes that come with a case AND without irritating glue?! Sign me up. 

When asked what kind of lashes I prefer, I said more on the natural side, so I received lash No. 1 (complete with case and glue) and No. 2. Lash No. 1 is all about length and definition and they certainly got it right. I've worn these for over a week now - at least 8 hours a day -  and I haven't encountered any irritation and the adhesive keeps them on all day. In addition, the lashes stayed in tact and clean the whole time. The lash band is so thin that it's very easy hide, but it can also makes it somewhat of a pain to put on because they tend to curl away from the eye. It's certainly not a deterrent though. Just bend the lashes into the desired shape as the glue is drying and you won't have any problem. For more tips on application, I'll be posting a tutorial later today. Lash No. 2 is about fullness and flare and they achieve it beautifully by thickening around the edge. If you want lashes alone, they retails for $15-$18 a pair which is reasonable considering you can get many uses out of them. Still I recommend purchasing the case right off the bat because you not only get the lashes, but the adhesive and a case to store them in for $28. You can then purchase the lashes a la carte later to refill your case. If you are just after the glue, you can purchase that from Nordstom.com as well for $8 a unit.
