New Releases I'm Banking On This Fall

As much as I don't want to think about it, the end of summer is closing in on us. But, rather than think about the upcoming fall and impending plunge into winter, I choose to focus on the new makeup releases. No one is surprised.

This year will be a little different for me because I'm no longer looking for back-to-school essentials. This time around, the focus will be on products that polish. Rather than going for a casual going-to-class kind of look, I'm looking for something that could be taken into an interview or workplace. To achieve that, I'm focusing on the prep and polishing things off with some neutral colors and sophisticated multitaskers. While I haven't tried any of these products, they are what I have my eye on (and pennies saved for) when they release on August.

First up is a product from Victoria's Secret Beauty Line: The Camoflague FX Color Correcting Concealer Duo. For $15, you get an apricot hued pencil to combat dark shadows that can come from sleepless nights or hyper pigmentation, and a green pencil to fight redness that accompanies anything from allergies to blemishes. A little attention to detail with this baby and you can have an allergy-ridden, sleepless night and no one will be the wiser the next morning.

Another concern with the segue into fall is the cooler drier weather that comes along with it because, for me, it always means dry, flaky lips. Victoria Secret also offers up a Lip Scrub & Balm for $16. To combat dryness, I would incorporate this into my night regimen so my lips would be baby-soft and prepped for the next day.

Now let's talk color. The Gorgeous-To-Go Set from Napoleon Perdis (or NP for Target) is $27 and not only includes both warm and cool eye colors, but a second tier folds out to reveal two blushes and three lip glosses. The colors look subtle enough for the workplace, but different enough to be able to have fun. The blushes and lip glosses are icing on the cake and truly make this a palette that can get you out the door in the morning.

While ELF is a brand I used in my back-to-school series last summer, they make eyeshadow palettes with diverse shade selections that are of good quality and could easily be worked into a look everyday of the work week and weekend. Their new releases for the fall are their Little Black Books and come in both a warm and cool palettes. Judging by the shades in each, these could not only take you from day to night, but keep you in a new look each day of the week. The best part is that these are always very affordable and, while there wasn't a price listen on the site, I wouldn't think these cost more than $5 a piece.

The last piece I want to add to my fall face is an all-in-one stain. This Sheer Cheek Gel by Pixi is $18 and has both your lips and cheeks covered all day. While these are nothing new to the market, they are releasing a new shade - Peachy - that will carry the orange hue that is so popular this summer well into the fall, and even winter.

That rounds out the list of products I have my eye on this fall! What's on your list?
