LEX Cosmetics is an entire company founded on the basis of customization and giving back. Each of their nail polishes is consumer created, with a meaningful story behind every one, and a percentage of all the proceeds go to a charity or foundation that's chosen according to input given by the consumer. Currently, they are donating to organizations such as the ASPCA, Habitat For Humanity, and Girls On the Run.
Alexa, the owner of the company, contacted me to ask if I would try the newest addition to her line, Tuilleries. With the company's motive in mind, I couldn't say no! Alexa described Tuilleries as a light pink with flecks of red, orange, silver and pink - aka princess in a bottle. With two coats, it dries sheer, but quickly, and is very high-shine. When worn over a thin coat of white polish, it becomes an opaque light pink and very reminiscent of funfetti cake. The average wear time is pretty long when worn alone at 3 days chip-free.
Each polish costs $10, which is a little steep for a non-luxury brand polish, but it truly is well-made and at least $1 will go toward charity. That takes the amount you are paying for the polish itself a little closer to drugstore brands like OPI and Essie. I fell in love with this polish and this brand after trying, so I thought I would share it and encourage you to check out
LEX Cosmetic's website in case you want to share your story, create a polish, and make a difference.
