Review & Swatchfest: Maybelline The Mega Plush Volum' Express Mascara

Maybelling The Mega Plush Volum' Express is not only a mouthful of a mascara to say, but a game changer to my mascara collection. Over a month ago, I saw an ad for it and, upon learning about it's new Gel-Mousse formula, knew I had to try it. As you can see from the packaging, it not only promises the new formula that provides "Massive + supple volume", but also a flexible (or Flexor) brush that bends to easily coat all lashes.  While I've never noticed my lashes being particularly stiff or brittle when wearing other mascaras, my perception changed once I used this mascara.

To start, the brush is large and plush with a tapered tip so both inner and outer lashes can be coated with precision. The fluffy shape with lots of bristles lends itself well to coating lashes thoroughly. The formula truly is light and airy so, despite coating and shaping my lashes like other mascaras do, they feel like nothing is on them. As I said in the July favorites video I featured this in, I sometimes find myself touching my lashes throughout the day, trying to remember whether I put mascara on that day because it really feels like noting is there!

While it doesn't flake or run throughout the day (even a hot one), it is still easy to remove with a gentle makeup remover or even soap and water. To see this mascara in action, I've included before and after photos, as always, but I also embedded a tutorial that received multiple comments regarding what the mascara did for my lashes. It's not just me, folks!

For $6.99 at your local ULTA or drugstore, this mascara is definitely worth a look for those looking to lighten the look and feel of their lashes.
