Smashbox Click, You're It! Photo Event

If you are a fan of Smashbox Cosmetics on Facebook, you may see them occasionally posting details about local events - more specifically one called the "Click, You're It! Photo Event". After seeing promises of a makeover and photoshoot, I was in. And I was taking my mom and sister with me.

Ultimately only my sister and I ended up doing the full makeup. When we sat down, our makeup artists immediately asked what look we want. My sister, being the classic gal she is, asked for a light, natural, glowing look. I, on the other hand, went on the opposite end of the makeup spectrum and asked for full-on smoky eye. I personally struggle with keeping a dark, dark eye from getting out of control, so I wanted to take a few pointers from a pro.

After the makeover, my sister and I hopped in a photobooth Smashbox had at the event and took nine pictures that were directed by someone working the "shoot". Are they going to be on the next cover of Elle? No. Was taking them the most fun I had all weekend? Yes.

While I didn't get a full list of products used on my sisters' face, my makeup artist wrote everything down for me. Come to find out, it included a new product from their Fall Collection!

On the face:
Hydrating Photofinish Foundation Primer
HD Foundation in L1
Light HD Concealer

Cheeks:
Halo Bronzer
Blush in Chiffon
Halo Wand in Gold (my favorite new highlighter!)

Lips:
Lipstick in Primrose

Eyes:
Icon Palette (Fall release pictures below)

For the eyes, he placed the plum in the middle of the bottom row all over the moving part of my lid and the black in the crease. I have never seen a matte plum shade as pigmented and rich as the one in this palette! Definitely something to think about picking up for your back to school shopping.

If you aren't a fan of Smashbox on facebook, I highly recommend you do so to stay up to date on upcoming beauty events. If you are, be on the lookout for the Click, You're It! event in your area because it's a good time you won't forget!

Photo Op Eye Shadow Palette in Icon

After finding the perfect under eye color corrector and concealer, mom got a touch up and hopped in for the fun!

  1. This sounds like a fun thing. I hope they offer this in NYC. I will have to check out their facebook page. Thanks for sharing this.

  2. That eye palette looks amazing! What did you think of their foundation? I'm currently using a Nars one that I like but may repurchase because it doesn't come with a pump.

    1. It's definitely full coverage and feels a little heavy, but has a beautiful finish! I don't have a definitive opinion because someone else was doing it so I didn't have a chance to work with it myself. But, I liked it enough to want to try it again! Hope that helps and thanks for reading :)
