Review: No Mess Gel Perfect Remover

Nutra Nail No Mess Express Gel-Perfect Remover
Earlier today, I posted a review of the Gel Perfect 5 Minute Gel-Color Manicure in Enamored, but neglected to mention much about the removal process. The gel color packaging says it can be removed with 100% acetone nail polish remover and it most certainly can.

The No Mess Express offers a new take on nail polish removal by providing a long, folded, 100% acetone soaked pad in a plastic pouch. Because of the simplicity of the product, I didn't see the point in using this over an acetone-soaked cotton ball, at first. But, after repeated use, I began to see the utility in it. Surprisingly, however, the utility wasn't always in removing Gel Perfect polish.

During my first attempt at removing gel polish, I went gung-ho and tried to remove all five fingers at once, as the packaging states you can. While the packaging is large, it isn't optimally shaped to fit the thumb during removal, so I was only really able to do four. Still, four out of five, isn't bad at all. The gel polish was off in no time! The benefit to this packaging is that the pad inside can be (and is) absolutely acetone soaked which takes the polish off very quickly. If you tried to soak a cotton ball that much, you would have a mess on your hands and varnish eaten off of your nice wood table (sorry, mom). For that, this little too-dad is very helpful.

I also found it especially useful in removing glitter polishes. Fellow beauty bloggers, or just plain glitter fanatics, reading this will understand the woes of removing glitter polish. This made removal 10 times easier and faster because the pad was absolutely saturated. The packet also makes it easy to leave a finger or two in there to soak so that you need less scrubbing.

Whether you are using these for removing your Gel Perfect polish or that of the glitter variety, it's very effective at both. You just have to decide if it is worth spending the $6 beyond your traditional cotton balls and remover to use it.
