Review & Swatchfest: Too Faced Holiday Collection Love Sweet Love Kit

I've already posted these pictures to give you an idea of what this kit contains in terms of products and coloring, but I wanted to post a review so those curious as to the quality of each product could know! To see a look I put together using this kit, check out the video at the bottom of the post!

The Love Sweet Love kit includes the Book of Love with 6 eyeshadows, two cheek colors, and two lip colors, Full Sized LashGASM Mascara, mini Shadow Insurance Primer, mini Perfect Eyes Eyeliner in Perfect Black, Primed and Poreless Face Primer, Face Brush, and Makeup Bag for $46. In terms of quantity, this is a steal!

The Makeup bag is a roomy terry cloth bag that I've already put to use during travel. It's safe to say it's not one of those pockets that people claim is a makeup bag. You will get use out of it. The Book of Love has 6 eyeshadows and while none of them are matte, two have satin finishes. Overall, the shade range is very natural with three browns (Mocha Ice, Ganache, and Burnt Sugar) a pink (Strawberry Cream), a sparkly medium grey (Licorice Glitz), and a Cream (Vanilla Sugar). If you aren't a subtle neutral lover, or don't feel like you need more in your collection, this might be a pass for you. Regardless, the shadows have the great smooth and pigmented qualities I've come to expect from Too Faced. The blushes are pigmented and I love that they've included a satin pink and neutral in the kit. While the neutral isn't dark enough to contour, it can be used to add a little dimension to light skin. The lipglosses, Raspberry Truffle and Bubblegum, are both semi-opaque but don't gravitate toward lip lines.

The brush included is oblong which makes it great for contour and applying blush. It feels sturdy and well made and is a good addition to the kit.

I won't go on too much about the LashGASM Mascara because I've reviewed it once (and loved it!), but I will say that including a full sized version in this kit drived the value up big time.

Too Faced Shadows Insurance is on par with Urban Decay's Primer Potion in mind in terms of it's texture and coverage. It's not thick or very opaque, but it really does keep shadow budge-free and pigmented all day.

I don't typically need primers that reduce the appearance of pores, so my primary concern with the Primed and Poreless Primer was how effective it was at keeping my makeup on. I applied it to my nose, cheek, and chin and definitely noticed extra staying power. Rather than getting splotchy after a full day, my foundation stayed solidly until I was ready to remove it. Win!

My feelings are mixed on the Perfect Eye Eyeliner. The consistency is unbelievable creamy, the pigmentation is out of this world, and they staying power is perfect. Unfortunately, it's so creamy that a little came off on my contact and the staying power was so great it stayed all day. I would highly recommend this to non-contact wearers. I couldn't get over how well it wore. But, a girl needs to be able to see.

Overall, the products in this kit performed really well and with a full face palette, full sized mascara, and deluxe sized goodies the value is there too. It will just come down to whether you feel like you will get good use out of the products in it and if the colors are your thing. You can purchase this palette from the Too Faced website
