Review & Swatchfest: Too Faced Holiday Collection Glamour to Go Spun Sugar Edition

Too Faced Glamour to Go Spun Sugar Edition

The Too Faced Glamour to Go Spun Sugar Edition is probably my favorite kit of the three I have tried from the latest holiday collection. It includes eight eyeshadows, a medium bronzer, a highlighter (similar to, if not exactly, candlelight), and a clear, shimmery lip gloss.

The eyeshadows are conveniently separated into four warm and four cool neutral shades. On the left, there is a light yellow-gold highlight shade with chunkier shimmer, a warmer medium gold shade with more of a satin finish, a light shimmery satin yellow-gold, and medium-dark chocolate brown with gold shimmer. The right side contains a shimmery silver-taupe, two satin taupe shades - one with brown tones and one without - and a dark grey with silver shimmer. They live up to the legacy of too faced shadows and are very smooth and evenly pigmented. While there are both warm and cool shades, the variation is a little limited. But, if these are colors you like or gravitate toward, the quality is excellent.

The face powders, the bronzer and highlighter are my favorite bit in the palette. The bronzer has a medium matte brown base with a slight gold shimmer while the highlighter has a warm pink-gold base with a slight gold shimmer. The finish that the highlighter puts on the cheekbones is very etherial and a current favorite of mine while the bronzer can be very natural or built for drama.

I wish they would have put a blush in the place of the lip gloss. While it's not a bad gloss as it's very natural and shimmery, I tend to not like gloss products alongside powder products if they don't have a plastic cover.

Overall, the compactness of this palette coupled with the variety of products inside and the nice large mirror included in the top makes this a favorite in my book. The quality of everything inside is great and, although I would have liked a blush instead of a gloss, it's not make or break for me. You can still create an almost-complete natural and smoky looks using only this palette. The Glamour to Go Spun Sugar Edition costs $22 and can be purchase on the Too Faced Website
