Where has this palette been all my life?
Despite being known in the beauty blog and vlogospheres as a wonderfully affordable brand, I don't see Jesse's Girl very much in the midwest due to the lack of Rite Aids. While living in Maryland for a few summers, I had the chance to try a few of their products, but never managed to make my way to their 9 Pan Eye Shadow Compacts. Such. A. Shame.
The palette I had the opportunity to try, The Eyes Have It, is a palette with 9 shadows and a price that trumps my current bargain buy from Wet n Wild. One of four 9 pan palettes, The Eyes Have It is an earthy palette with lots of greens, rusty browns, bronzes, and even a teal. Unlike so many drugstore palettes that try to over extend themselves with lots of shades (some of them subpar) in one palette, I have nothing but good things to say about each of these shadows. While I do wish the spectrum of shades was a little wider (perhaps with a frosty white and a blackened green), the palette can pull of both work appropriate and dramatic looks. Each of the shadows is smooth and evenly pigmented with only to shades being a smidge powdery (the light blues). All of the shades have a satin to shimmer finish, but not so much so that I felt like I needed a matte shade to balance everything out. While glitter-haters will rejoice, matte-lovers might not have much to look forward to with this palette.
For $3.99, there is no reason to not want this palette. If, like me, you are without a nearby Rite Aid, you can purchase this and all other items from the collection from the
Jesse's Girl Cosmetics website.
