Styli-Style Lip Paints are
self-described liquid lipsticks. Considering they are nearly opaque,
yet deceptively glossy, it's definitely the best way to describe them
as they walk a fine line between lipstick and gloss. Of the 6 shades
available, I have two: Country Girl and Tres Chic. Country Girl is a
peach with orange tendencies while Tres Chic is a berry-leaning plum.
Both shades are sans shimmer and, while they don't have cream
finishes, they manage to reach complete opacity while maintaining an
ultra glossy sheen. I was thrilled with the lack of cream finish
because so many products tend to fall flat (and into lip lines) when
they try to give you a cream-finish gloss.
Lasting power varies between the shades
I've tried. Country Girl lasted 3 hours before completely wearing
off, but Tres Chic leaves a stain behind a berry-pink that lasts as
long as 5 hours and fades away naturally rather than flaking off.
Neither are too sticky, but both are fairly thick. The floral/fruity smell
was also really nice!
Lip Paints come in somewhat typical
lipgloss packaging with a soft, flexible brush wand. While the
bristles are a little stubbier than the typical doe-foot applicator,
they allow for more precision and which I think is called for with a
product that applies as pigmented as this one does.
Whether it's the colors you're drawn
to, or the unique blend of lipstick and gloss these present, I think
these would fit into a lip-lovers' collection nicely. And, for $5.99,
they bring something new and different to the drugstore end of the
makeup spectrum without breaking the bank. So far, you can find
Styli-Style products at Sears, and
their website just went live a few days ago!
