L'Oréal Colour Riche Eyeshadow Quad in in Neon Skirt 

As odd as it might sound, L'Oréal's new Colour Riche Eyeshadow quads were not on my radar when they initially came out. The packaging seemed like something out of the 80s and the color combinations looked odd. A few weeks after their release, I still hadn't heard any must-have reviews, but a $4 off $12 coupon compiled on a BOGO 50% off offer from CVS, and some post-workout endorphins was all I needed to commit to a trial run with these guys. I'm sure I don't need to explain why Neon Skirt caught my eye, but I was compelled to buy it because I'm gearing up for the brights that will once again be in style this spring and summer. The quad contians a shimmery yellow gold, frosty white, nearly matte medium teal, and shimmery fuchsia. Surprisingly, the shades that are typically a dime a dozen in terms of shade and quality, the gold and white were the most disappointing. Despite swatching opaquely, both sheered out into a thing shimmer on the lid (the gold moreso than the white). Primer or not, it was impossible to build up any kind of color payoff. The teal and fuchsia, on the other hand, were awesome! Despite leaning matte, the teal is was smooth, pigmented and not chalky in the least. Very easy to pack on the lid. The fuchsia maintained it's bold color payoff even when thinned out into liner on the upper lash line. It's also very smooth and blendable. Overall, I'm glad both of these shades performed as well as they did because they are hard to come across in the drugstore, while the gold and white aren't so much. Still, to have half a quad that falls short is a bit much - even for the drugstore. 

If the bold shadows in the quad are must-haves for you, then this quad might be worth it to hit and quit once summer is over. If you are in it for the gold and white shimmery shades, keep on moving because these might disappoint at $7.99 a quad.
