Review: it Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Powder Brush

it Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Powder Brush
it Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Powder Brush is the first brush ever to leave me stumped after my first use. After applying a few dabs of foundation all over my face, I used this brush to blend it out. After what felt like a few strokes, my foundation was fully blended and I was ready to move on to the next step. But where was the buffing? Where was the careful attention to eliminating the appearance of brush strokes and uneven distribution of product? All gone. I think I wasted more time trying to figure out if there was any more buffing and blending that needed to be done than actually buffing and blending.

Anecdotes aside, this brush is described as "an ultra-luxurious, ultra-plush allover powder brush for flawless application." While it says to use it for powder, the bristles are synthetic so it's good to use with cream, powder, or gel products. Despite not being real hair, the bristles are super soft and feel gentle when blending product into the skin. The bristles are so dense that I wouldn't use this with loose powder for fear it would yield an application that's much too heavy. With pressed powder, however, it works well and provides the same even coverage I experience with liquid foundation. The rubberized handle and sturdy ferrule make this brush feel very well made, and I haven't noticed any shedding since I first opened it.

The only real sticking point for me is the price. At $48, it seems a little outrageous. It's a wonderful brush that I recommend to anyone for stellar application of both powder and liquid products, but when it's available with the Bye Bye Pores HD Bronzer for $42 (making it just $21 alone), or the 4 Piece Complexion Perfection Kit (making it just $15 individually), I would find it hard to shell out that much on it alone. That being said, you could pay less overall and get 2 products if you purchase it in a set with Bye Bye Pores HD Bronzer

Overall, I think this is a phenomenal brush for those who would like to speed up their foundation application. Still, it's hard to get past the unusually high price point for one brush.
