Review & Swatchfest: it Cosmetics Anti-Aging Celebration Foundation and Heavenly Luxe Buffing Airbrush Foundation Brush

it Cosmetics Anti-Aging Celebration Foundation
it Cosmetics Anti-Aging Celebration Foundation claims to be a full coverage product touting a creamy, crease-proof formula with the ability to blur the appearance of pores, fine lines, and wrinkles. The "anti-aging" part of the title comes not only from this blurring effect, but also from ingredients like, peptides, antioxidants, hyaluronic acid, and vitamins A, C, and E. Hyaluronic acid binds water to the surface of the skin to keep it hydrated and help temporarily fill fine lines, antioxidants and vitamins A, C, and E fortify and protect, and peptides (although they don't describe which ones they use) are generally used to tell the skin to produce more collagen and increase circulation and cellular communication.

Right off the bat, I was impressed with the results I achieved with this foundation. I'm so used to chalky, uneven powder foundation with sparse coverage that I didn't have high expectations for this. Surprisingly, it applied smoothly, evenly, and provided far more coverage than I anticipated. It was very creamy and kept my combination-type skin moisturized throughout the day with just a little dewiness in my t-zone at the end of 6 hours of wear. Dewiness aside, it wore evenly and I didn't find that I had any bald spots where the powder had flaked or faded. After I noticed the t-zone sheen, I used the sponge applicator it comes with to touch up affected areas and found that it functioned well without caking up or looking unnatural. I think the satin finish lends a lot to the anti-aging claims. Unlike completely matte or shimmery foundations, satin gently diffuses light so it makes fine lines and raised blemish appear less harsh. Still, I don't discount whatever role ingredients like hyaluronic acid play in keeping my skin smooth and hydrated throughout the day.

The brush is another key player in the application seen below. The flat shade and soft, dense bristles make it easy to pick up enough product for opaque coverage if you are using it as a foundation. In terms of quality, the rubberized handle and sturdy ferrule feel well-made and I didn't notice any shedding. It's very consistent with my other experience with other it Cosmetics brushes. I'm not sure whether or not it's synthetic or not, so I'm not as quick to try it with cream products to see how it performs.

You can't purchase either of these products individually, but they are both available as a set for $39 exclusively on QVC, or in the Hello, Beautiful! 5 Piece Anti-Aging Set that's only available on March 18th. Given the quality of both products, I think $39 for a set is an absolute steal. If you like powder foundation, are looking for a new touch-up powder, or love it Cosmetics brushes, this is an excellent value!
