Review & Swatchfest: Youngblood Pressed Mineral Eyeshadow Quad in Starlet

Youngblood Pressed Mineral Eyeshadow Quad in Starlet

Youngblood's Pressed Mineral Eyeshadow Quad in Starlet is the ball gown of eyeshadow palettes. From the color palette, to the sleek magnetic clasp, this collection of shadows is fit to talk any red carpet. The color selection includes: Moonstone (satin white), Storm (deep grey), Black Opal (matte black), and Platinum (aptly named soft metallic grey). None of the shadows are over-the-top glittery or shimmery, yet they are pigmented and buildable, making it a lovely palette for looks that are soft and subtle or deep and sultry. Additionally, the soft matte and satin finishes of the shadows make it a great palette for mature eyelids.

In terms of quality, the shadows are buttery soft, apply evenly, pigmented and buildable. Despite looking like an overwhelmingly cool palette, when paired with warmer blush or lips, the shadows can lean more neutral. More versatility!

The compact is a sturdy, sleek, black compact with a solid magnetic closure, and inside there is a sizable mirror - great for on-the-go! At $42.95, that puts each of these shadows at just over $10 a shadow. To compare, that puts it at less than MAC shadows, but with similar quality. I recommend this palette to anyone wanting a simple yet sophisticated palette for both for everyday and special occasion use.
