Review & Swatches: Revlon PhotoReady Cream Blush in Coral Reef

As summer temps start to soar, I begin turning to cream products to keep my makeup looking flawless throughout the day. Unlike powder products, creams will work with my natural (elevated) body heat to meld further with my cream foundation and continue looking natural throughout the day. Powders, on the other hand, can become uneven and streaky at the first sign of excess sweat. Sounds like the perfect reason to peruse drugstores for the best in cream blushes, no?

I've been eyeing Revlon's Cream Blush since they hit shelves, but their vibrant hues always intimidated me before I could make it to checkout. It turns out, there is little to be scared of when it comes to these beautiful hues. Revlon's Photoready Cream Blush in Coral Reef looks more like a vibrant orange that lacks the pink a coral should have. Once sheered out however, the pink tones shine through to become a lovely, flattering shade. The texture is smooth, creamy, and not sticky in the least. It can be applied directy with your finger or a small stippling brush, but more recently I've found that it Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Foundation Brush is the ultimate in cream blush application tools - it picks up the perfect amount of product and makes it easy to achieve an even application.

Overall, this is definitely a cream product to have on hand over the summer! Despite looking scary-orange in the pan, it wear naturally on the cheeks and lasts all day without smudging or streaking - a property that will also depend pretty heavily on the quality of the base you use. Not bad for an $8-$12 blush!

Have you tried Revlon's vibrant cream blushes?
