Redemption Review: CoverGirl Flamed Out Eye Shadow Pot in Melted Caramel

CoverGirl Flamed Out Eye Shadow Pot in Melted Caramel
A few months ago, I reviewed some pieces from the then-new CoverGirl Flamed Out Collection and was unimpressed with a lot of what I found. Some of the pencils applied patchy and the shadows were lacking in the pigment department. More recently, Klout gave me a chance to try more products from the line and I have a redemption review as a result!

CoverGirl's Flamed Out Eye Shadow Pot in Melted Caramel is a cool-leaning metallic taupe with sparse silver shimmer. While it still has the same texture as the previous shadows I tried, it applies much smoother and more opaque - even without a primer! There was some minor fallout with the silver shimmer, but the pigment itself stayed neat the whole time. To avoid fallout problems, apply your foundation after you do your eyes. The shadow stayed for over 8 hours without wearing unevenly or fading.

While $3.99 still might be a little steep for a single shadow, it's far more justified with the quality (and quantity) you get in Melted Caramel. If this looks like a staple shade you must have for your collection, I highly recommend it!
