Review & Swatches: Hard Candy All Lid Up Cream Eyeshadow in Stepping Stones

Hard Candy All Lid Up Cream Shadow in Stepping Stones
Hard Candy All Lid Up Cream Shadow in Stepping Stones is a multi-faceted shade with a cool grey base laced antique gold shimmer. When applied it tends to go cooler, but looks beautiful layered with warm and cool shadow alike. Despite being relatively dry upon first opening it, it applied relatively smoothly and evenly using both my fingers and a brush. I recommend using your finger for maximum pigmentation - additionally, your body heat will make the shadow creamier and easier to blend. In terms of lasting power, Hard Candy's Cream Eyeshadow lasted all day without creasing and with very minimal fading! I have to say, I was impressed. I'm always skeptical of drugstore cream shadows and whether or not they will wear well throughout the day, but Hard Candy's ended up making the grade.

The only downside to this cream shadow is that shortly after opening, it had dried out considerably, making it very hard to apply with even my finger. I'm not sure if it's the packaging or the particular shadow I got, but I was sad to see that it had already started separating from the side of the packaging. Because this is the only shade I've tried, I'm interested to see whether or not this happens across the board with these shadows. For $5, these are very worth it for the performance, but not if they are only going to dry out within days of opening.

Have you tried Hard Candy's Cream Eyeshadow? Any tips on rehydrating them?
