Turning tax season into beauty season + GIVEAWAY

It might be the season everyone dreads, but taxes actually come at a great time in the year to make some changes with the extra cash your refund might leave you with. In addition to sharing a few beauty-related ways I recommend spending your tax refund, Coupons.com is offering up tax season deals and even a few giveaways to help you keep calm during what's far from the most relaxing time of year.

Spring Cleaning.
Getting organized is nothing new to the winter-spring transition, but some target their closet or junk drawer, leaving their makeup storage as an afterthought. Toss any products that are past their expiration date (if you notice a chance in smell or color - it's out!) and pair down for a fresh start. When it comes to storage, something as simple as an acrylic organizer is easy to compartmentalize everything from palettes to foundation, and even lipsticks. If you're on a budget, I recommend checking out those from Caboodles. If you're in for a splurge and have a larger collection, I love my Original Beauty Box!

Wardrobe Update.
Loads of retailers have stellar sales for spring. Take advantage of them to get more milage out of your refund and update your spring and summer wardrobe. For everyday essentials, like basic white tees and timeless, long-lasting outerwear, I love places like Macy's or Gap. For trendier articles that I don't see lasting beyond a season or two (hello, crop tops!), I love Forever 21. If you can't make it to the store, look for coupon codes to save online!

A Little Splurge.
The last way I recommend spending your tax refund on is a beauty splurge or two - I'm actually going to suggest a few I've already traded in my refund for! If you're a frequent reader of the blog, you'll know I'm no stranger to drugstore beauty. There are loads of great finds to be had that won't take a toll your wallet. That being said, not all high end products are hype - a select few are worth the splurge. Some that I picked up at NARS new Matte Mulitples - the ultimate multi-taskers to use on your eyes, cheeks and lips, and Stila's Smudge Sticks in Canary and Mint Julep - the ultimate additions to your summer liner collection.

If you haven't even begun to think about tackling your taxes, let alone think about what your refund will buy, Coupons.com is easing the pain with a $100 cash giveaway for 30 winners on their site, and a $100 gift card giveaway exclusive to blog readers!
