Peek Inside my Mary Kay VoxBox + Giveaway!

A recent Influenster VoxBox presented me with an excellent opportunity to try some Mary Kay products. Some were new to me, others were old favorites, but all created a simple, glam look I've been loving when I need a go-to look. Check out everything that came in my VoxBox below!

Lash Love Mascara – Unlike the lengthening version of the Lash Love formula, the wand with this mascara is straight. The plastic bristles are longer and evenly spaced, and while I feel like they contributed to evenly coated lashes, the wand wasn't able to curl my lashes as well. They formula lasted all day flake and budge-free, but I tend to prefer the lengthening formula for what it can do to my eyes.

Cream Eyeshadow in Apricot Twist A longtime favorite, this cream shadow applies smoothly and lasts all day on my eyes without creasing or fading. Apricot Twist in particular is a beautiful golden peach shade that illuminates eyes nicely, while still providing faceted color if that's the only color you chose to wear on your lids that day. The concealer/cream shadow brush is perfect for getting a smooth, even, opaque application

Mineral Cheek Color in Shy Blush – With every Mary Kay blush I try, I wonder why they aren't more talked about! This shade in particular is a soft coral with a finely milled gold shimmer that acts as a highlight as well. With great pigmentation and a smooth texture, it blends in evenly and wears well all day. It's also buildable, making it suitable for a wide range of skin tones!

Bronzing Powder – While it looks tantalizing in the pan, this bronzer looks even better when worn. The satin finish allows it to work well not only as a bronzer, but also as a contour in the hollows of the cheeks, temples, and beneath the jaw line. The texture of the powder gives skin a flawless finish and blends well with other face products – both cream and powder.

Setting Powder – The timing of this box coincided with a comment I received on a Top 5 video rounding up my favorite Mary Kay products. KraftyKaitlyn said, "I had a friend recommend it and I fell in love!!! It really is just how she described it... It's like velvet! The texture and finish is amazing!" On the scale of setting powders, Mary Kay's is more finely-milled, making it difficult to build up a noticeable white cast. While I find this doesn't set makeup as well as those that might apply heavier, the difference is negligible. The real highlight of this product is the packaging! The sifter at the top has a turn-style closure to keep products from getting trapped in between the cap and sifter, making a mess imminent upon opening a jar that's been tossed every which way in travel. This is my biggest problem with loose powder products and Mary Kay has solved it!

NouriShine Lip Gloss in Mango Tango– Once again, this isn't my first try with Mary Kay's gloss, and every time I use them I'm shocked more people don't rave about them. Although they slip easily on the lips and feel light and cushiony when worn, the pigment is the real star of the show when it comes to these glosses.

Gel Eyeliner & Expandable Brush - Mary Kay's gel liner is on the softer side, but offers up excellent pigmentation. With allergy season underway, I sometimes can't help but touch my eyes during the day - eyeliner that lasts is a must. This gel dries to a matte finish and lasts through nearly anything! It proved to be a little difficult to remove, but nothing that a top-notch makeup remover couldn't accomplish, and completely worth it for a liner that lasts through allergy season!

At the end of my VoxBox trial, I continue to be impressed with Mary Kay. Since I already have (and love) the Cream Eye Shadow in Apricot Twist, so the one I received in my VoxBox was an extra. You know that that means - enter to win one of my favorites down below!
