Review & Swatches: Maybelline The Blushed Nudes Palette

Maybelline The Blushed Nudes Palette
Looking to lighten up your look for Spring? Maybelline has just launched a palette that might be for you! The Blushed Nudes Palette combines rosy pinks, and mauve-toned taupes, and is an apparent Naked3 Palette Dupe. Although the shadow quality doesn't quite live up to Urban Decay's, I think they are some of the best Maybelline has release among all of their newly released 12-pan palettes.

While there's only one matte shadow, there's a diverse mix of shimmery shades. Nearly all of the shadows apply smoothly, evenly, and can be layered to achieve nice color payoff. The only real dud in the bunch is the deepest shimmery plum - it's a tad chalky, and the shimmer isn't nearly as apparent when worn as it is in the pan. Still, for $10 it's hard to beat! To get the most out of these shadows, I recommend working with a flat shading brush to build pigment on the lid, and grabbing a small, dense, domes brush to work deeper pigments into the outer corner and crease.

Overall, I think this is a really unique palette that offers a diverse mix of shades not often seen from the drugstore. I really recommend it to anyone that wants to add a little bit of variety to their everyday makeup look.
