Elcie Cosmetics Micro Silque Foundation Review

I feel like I've gone foundation crazy lately, but I think the buck stops with Elcie Cosmetics Micro Silque Foundation. After seeing Jaclyn Hill feature it in her June Favorites video, I knew I had to give it a try. She loved it not only because it wears beautifully on her skin, but as a makeup artist she would use it in her kit for every client/skin type. It didn't hurt that she also has a 10% off coupon code (Jaclyn10) to take this $45 foundation down to $40.50.

Elcie Cosmetics Foundation offers coverage that's buildable from medium to full. It has a thicker consistency that dries down to a demi-matte finish without looking to heavy. I think it's most comparable to Too Faced Born This Way Foundation in coverage and feel, but the Too Faced foundation offers a little more hydration, along with a more dewy finish. That being said, I think Elcie's demi-matte finish is what gives it slightly more longevity than the Born This Way Foundation, and makes it better suited for any skin type.

The lasting power with this foundation is pretty stellar. My first time testing it was while visiting my family in Charleston, SC - in 90Ā°F+ weather with 80% humidity. It was rigorous, to say the least. I was very impressed at the end of 8 hours, and continued to be when I brought it home to continue testing. I see the most wear down the center of my face - an expected side effect of having a combination skin type. But it remained intact elsewhere, and was better at keeping redness at bay throughout the day than Too Faced Born This Way Foundation.

Overall, this foundation is a HUGE win for me. It definitely lived up to Jaclyn's recommendation. I would suggest it to anyone interested in a medium/full coverage foundation with a semi-matte finish, and some serious lasting power.
