5-minute back-to-school makeup look

Back-to-school season is upon us! While some were focused on new clothes, or updating their school supplies, I was always most concerned with how I could get out the door in as little time as possible, while still looking put-together. Enter: the 5 minute makeup routine.

The trick to maximizing time is reaching for high-impact multi-taskers. With a little help from Burt's Bees and EcoTools, I've managed to pull together a look that not only takes 5 minutEs (with a few options for the lip, of course). Check out my back-to-school tutorial below!

Get the look in 5 minutes:

  1. Dab Maybelline Fit Me Concealer over blemishes, or in your undereye area to minimize dark circles and redness.
  2. Blend out with EcoTools Correcting Concealer Brush.
  3. Set your concealer, and blend with the rest of your face using Rimmel's Stay Matte Press Powder and EcoTools Mattifying Finish Brush.
  4. Apply Revlon's Highlighting Palette in Bronze Glow along the cheek bones, temples, and along the jaw line using EcoTools Mattifying Finish Brush.
  5. Use Eco Tools Deluxe Fan Brush to apply the lightest strip from Revlon's Highlighting Palette in Bronze Glow along the tops of the cheek bones.
  6. Apply mascara to the top and bottom lashes - I used Covergirl's The Super Sizer Mascara
  7. Lightly fill and sculpt brows using a NYC's Kohl Brow/Eyeliner Pencil (mine is in taupe).
  8. Apply Burt's Bees Sedona Sands Lip Crayon to complete the look!

For a little more variety, you can easily switch up the lip color. In the top left, I'm wearing Burt's Bees Sedona Sands Lip Crayon (same as the tutorial above), but in the top right, I've applied the Lip Crayon in Niagara Overlook. The two bottom photos are of lips that use the same Lip Crayon in Napa Vineyard. In the one on the right, I applied the tiniest amount and blended it out with my finger, while the one on the right has it applied directly - talk about pigmentation! This is perfect for transitioning this look into fall, or even something for an evening look.
