Dupe or Dud: IT Cosmetics Vitality Face Disk vs. Crown Brush Blush! Bronze!! Illuminate!!!

IT Cosmetics Vitality Face Disk has been a go-to on days when I want a "one and done" product for my face. With generous portions of bronzer, blush, and highlight packed in a massive disk compact with a nice large mirror, it has everything needed to enhance a sculpted, glowing complexion. While I'm more than happy to pay the $38 for a face palette that can do it all with shades that flatter, it wasn't until recently that I found a somewhat cheaper alternative in the Crown Brush Bronze! Blush!! Highlight!!! Palette. Although it's listed for $19.99 on the Crown Brush site, I snagged it for a mere $12 on Hautelook - that's $26 you could use to buy something useful (like more makeup, duh).

The Crown Brush Palette contains the same products that look nearly identical to their IT Cosmetics counterparts. The major exception is the highlighter - the IT Cosmetics powder has a slightly pink undertone that's a little more complex and reflective. It will always hold a soft spot in my heart, but might not be worth the price difference given how smooth and pigmented the highlight (or really all of the powders) in the Crown Brush Palette are.

Beyond the highlight powders, everything about the way these palettes perform is exactly the same. Often products that are potential dupes perform nicely when swatched, but fail the wear test - not so with this Crown Brush trio. Each powder looked great until the very end of the day.

In short, unless the IT Cosmetics highlighter absolutely calls your name, consider the Crown Brush trio to save a few bucks without sacrificing functionality or quality!
