Not your average brush: The SigmaTech Essential Set

Sigma has stepped up their brush game with a new fiber that promises to outperform traditional hair. When it comes to makeup brushes, I tend to prefer synthetic fibers because they are easier to clean. But getting a synthetic fiber that doesn't feel like plastic, and has enough texture pick up product without over-doing it can be tricky, but Sigma's new SigmaTech Fibers have managed to make it happen! Not only is the texture amazing, they were engineered with specialized tips specifically to hold and deliver cream products without absorbing them, and maintain their shape through continuous washings. I got to experience all of this first hand when I was lucky enough to give Sigma's new SigmaTech Essential Set a try. Here's what's inside:

F25 - Tapered Face - This is not the tapered face I'm used to from Sigma. While I loved the original I got years ago, it used natural fibers that still shed to this day, and lost a lot of its shape after years of use and (somewhat) frequent washings. The updated version feels solid, hasn't shed a fiber yet (even after washing), and is perfect applying contour to the hollows of the cheeks, temples, and jaw line.
F15 - Duo-Fiber Power/Blush - The size of this brush makes it perfect for application to the apples of the cheeks, while the fibers make it great for cream, gel, or powder product.
F64 - Soft Blend Concealer - The size and density of this brush makes it perfect for buffing concealer in the undereye area.
E54 - Medium Sweeper - This is a somewhat flat, dense brush that's great for both quick, easy shadow application across the lid, as well as packing on color.
E35 - Tapered Blending - This is a go-to for sweeping color through the crease.
E32 - Exact Blend - This is great for more precise application on the
E45 - Small Tapered Blending - The ultra-tapered tip makes this brush perfect for precise crease application.
E06 - Winged Liner - If you find typical liner brushed cumbersome, this petite, ultra-slim brush could be perfect for you.

While $122 is steep for any brush set, it's 25% less than the set would be if you bought each brush individually. Additionally, brushes that are this well made will last years - they're more of an investment than any other piece in your makeup routine. Overall: two thumbs up!
